TheTriTouch is delighted to announce that it will support UK Youth’s sporting efforts throughout 2012. This is the second year UK Youth was selected as our Charity of the Year.
The national youth charity is dedicated to enhancing the lives of young people in the UK and works with 750,000 of them around the country.
It takes part in a range of sports events to raise money and is also represented by a British Cycling Team (Team UK Youth). They have registered as a UCI Continental team to spread the message of the charity further afield. Riders include Magnus Backstedt, Yanto Barker, Niklas Gustavsson, Chris Opie, Freddy Johansson, James Stewart, David McGowan, Richard Tanguy, Greg Mansell, Gruff Lewis and James Lowsley-Williams.
In 2012 TheTriTouch will raise awareness of UK Youth through its network within the sports industry, at clinics and events and will also promote fundraising opportunities. In addition:
Aurelie Almeida is currently training UK Youth’s Becky Frewing to become a soigneur for Team UK Youth.
Dan Scott prepared a 24h cycling challenge to raise funds for the Charity.
Tierney Maude is joining Team UK Youth on their training camp in Gran Canaria in January to help the riders’ recovery by providing sports massage.
In 2011 we supported UK Youth in many ways. We sponsored and looked after UK Youth’s Chief Executive Charlotte Hill, who successfully trained for the London-Paris 2011. Charlotte trained for 5 months to prepare for the 520km race. “People take on amazing personal challenges like marathons, triathlons and mountain climbs on behalf of UK Youth, so I thought I should follow their example. It’s brilliant to have TheTriTouch supporting us and offering our amateur athletes fantastic sports massage that will make training a little more bearable. We are so grateful to Aurelie and her team for choosing UK Youth as their charity of the year.”
We also gave free treatments to some of UK Youth’s fundraisers to help them train for other sporting challenges. We provided treatment vouchers for the prize draw at Michelle Smythe’ fundraising event in December. Thousands of Pounds were collected for the charity last year but we can do even better in 2012!
