August 2011: Tri Dynamic Triathlon Training Camps – What’s Next
![]()
Not been on a Tri Dynamic Triathlon training camp yet? This is what you missed:
What a fantastic first year for Tri Dynamic: Aurelie Almeida has recently come back from working with them in Switzerland, it’s a good time to look back at what great camps Tri Dynamic have put on over the last year and get excited about the future.
Tri Dynamic offer high quality, all-inclusive training camps around Europe in association with expert coaches Joe Friel and Jim Vance from TrainingBible Coaching. Who doesn’t own a copy The Triathlete Training Bible?! Unthinkable…
Athletes on Tri Dynamic camps range from experienced age group athletes (all distances) to newcomers. The camps offered in-depth group training as well as 1:1 attention from Joe and Jim on all aspects of triathlon, from technical skills, drills, training plans, endurance, recovery & mental strength to nutrition and race strategies.
TheTriTouch provided dedicated on site sports massage support to all athletes, (and a few of the crew…) including a triathlon specific stretching session (you can download the photo guide) with advice on how to prevent the most frequent triathlon injuries.
It was the opportunity for many to experience a solid week’s training without having to worry about work, social commitments, cooking, booking training sessions, massage or getting enough sleep. Friendships were made and will last a long time, even across countries.
Below is a summary on Tri Dynamic and TheTriTouch last 3 training camps. You can also have a look at Tri Dynamic’s YouTube Channel:
- The January winter training camp in Tenerife provided much needed sunshine to kick start the season. With stunning and challenging rides on Mount Teide, open water training in the beautiful, warm ocean with water at 20 degrees and volcanic seaside paths for run training, everyone came back motivated, stronger, fitter, faster and with a lovely tan (which is rather nice when coming back to the UK). We benefited from T3’s top of the range training facilities including the flume for swim video analysis and some of the athletes met Alistair Brownlee who was also training there at the same time as us and the Russian Junior Olympic Team!
- The April women-only triathlon camp in sunny Calella, Spain, was fantastic fun for ladies, from seasoned athletes to newcomers to the sport. They were put through their paces & made new friends. They made massive improvements, surprising themselves with what they achieved during the week. Participants also learnt from the experiences of Pro Triathlete Tamsin Lewis who spent the week joining in on the workouts and passing on her knowledg
- The June official IM Switzerland camp in Rappersville was perfectly timed for the BIG race. Athletes had an amazing experience learning lots of new skills to prepare for their Ironman race in July surrounded by the beautiful Swiss countryside. They also benefited from spending the day & having a Q&A session with 5x Ironman Champion Ronnie Schildknecht riding the Official course as well as meeting Xterra legend Renata Bucher, current World Sprint Champ Lisa Norden and elite ITU Coach Darren Smith. They also got to have a Q&A session with the IM Switzerland race organisers. We can report they all had an excellent race at IM Switzerland and really benefitted from the camp and massages from TheTriTouch!
Tri Dynamic have lots more in store for the rest of the year and 2012 including talks and UK events. We really look forward to working with our partners again in 2012 and can’t wait to see new and familiar faces at next year’s camps.
