Mike employs his skills alongside coaching in a whole athlete development approach. He is fully qualified sports teacher providing team support for the elite GB athletics team. He holds coaching qualifications in a number of sports and is an instructor with the British Weight Lifters Association.
Mike is no stranger to endurance sport, winning medals as a student, county runner and a former British Masters steeplechase champion. He guided one of Britain’s top visually impaired Paralympians at both the Sydney Paralympics and in two subsequent world championships over distances from 5000m to the marathon. His current client base includes GB internationals over track and cross country as well as world/European medallists at age group triathlon. Mike rides a Trek Madone 5.5 and cycles at weekends to keep up with his wife! He has been part of the L2P massage crew since 2010 and went on The Alpine Challenge in 2011. Mike recently trained 4 athletes for the Virgin London Marathon 2011. Their results were impressive: Scott Hazell 2:36, Emerson Combstock 2:48, Nigel Marley 2:32 and Damian Clarke 2:38.
